My son had the same problem I changed everything and still had the problem went through 4 clutches in a month. We finally figured out it was his left hand he was holding the clutch in just enough to let it slip a little. He said there was no way he was doing that. But once he took time to really pay attention to what he was doing his clutch has been fine. This 450 has so much power that if you take away the free play and the clutch slips just a bit you won't notice it and you'll be replacing plates after every ride. This may not be your problem but the only thing we replaced that worked was my son’s riding style. He rode the 450 for 8 months without a problem then all at once it started and like I said I replaced everything there was to replace and the same thing keep happening. It cost him three races and one race it cost him a top ten-year end finish in four stroke A GNCC.

do you have excessive wear on the surfaces of the hub and pressure plate, where the friction plates ride?

Did you find anything else out? Is your clutch still giving you problems?

Check the pushrod. I had this problem with some YZ 250's and now I replace the pushrod every time I replace the clutches and no more problems. Have any of you tried switching to the YZ450 bike clutch setup? I am thinking about trying one next.

Kinda Confusing... First off i would make sure you have enough play in the perch. This might be it...... On my old banshee, i was running a CR style Perch....NOT A GOOD IDEA... it didnt have enough pull and i went though clutch after clutch. If you havent changed that and there is enough play i have no idea. Cuz it seems like you have everything else taken care of.

What type of clutch did you replace it with? I've heard of alot of yfz's eating up aftermarket clutches very quickly. The best set up seems to be OEM or YZ.
