alright i got this 78 john deere snowmobile, i rode it last night for a half hour or so and it ran like a champ. today i go to start it and i have no spark. do you think the CDI went out?

no, the spitfire has CDI. theres no way in hell im putting $130 into that thing.

i had a 73?? john deere 440. i got to ride it up until last winter we got it for like 50 bucks. this winter it wouldnt spark i think the coil was junk. just didnt want to put any more money/time into it. its gone but that was one funny sled. it smoked so much and had no suspension at all. im honestly suprised it lasted the 2-3 years we had it

maybe water got in the ignition, squirt it with wd-40 and it will absorb it up:ermm:

thanks scott, that could be it. it could of got all wet from the snow hitting it and then it could of froze overnight

did u bother checking the plugs,kewswitch, and killswitch? how bout the grounds?

Maybe fouled a plug on that old girl.

plugs, killswitch and keyswitch are all good. i pulled the plugs and had a friend pull it, theres no spark at all
