My KFX400 is coming up on a year old and I am getting ready to service it. What all should I do?

grease zerk fittings
change oil and filter
valve adjustment
take the carb apart and clean jet, and so forth
change coolant
replace brake pads(should I change the brake fluid?)
change spark plug

What am I missing?

sounds like you got about all of it.
you may want to go ahead and check any fuel filters that may be on there and check the gas tank for any trash that may be in there. i would go over it real good and check all the nuts and bolts and make sure none have loosend.
i wouldnt worry about changing the brake fluid unless its dirty, just dip a little bit of it out and see if its still clear.
i would lube all the cables too and chain too if you dont already do it regularly and check your exhaust packing.

lube clutch and throttle cable, airfilter, swigarm pivot bolt, grease bearings in carrier and front spindles, chain, make sure all bolts are tight, etc.

you better order a new timing chain,,,,,,i had a z400 for 13 months and the timing chain stretched. so i told suzuki where to go when they said sorry about your luck. I BOUGHT A NEW HONDA 400EX.maybe it will last more than 1 year!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe u just got a bad timing cahin, cause my friend has one and it is 2 years old and has had 0 problems with it, so I decided to get one too. I think ur timing chain will be fine.

I change the oil every three rides and clean the air filter every ride or two. I haven't changed the oil filter yet.

Thanks for the info.
