well yesterday me and my friend were walking to my house and we saw a tackle box so i looked through it and found an old knife, pliers, splitshots, etc... and what do ya know a 1920 quarter:D :D

well i looked on ebay and some of them are going for 50 dollars!!!!! i can't believe this. well me and him decided to look with a metal detector and try and find some money in the ground. turns out all we found were an old railroad spike thats pretty kool and a coke' cola bottle cap.

so what did anyone ever find while walking in the woods or with a metal detector. :blah:

The oldest thing I've found detecting was an 1848 large cent. It's actually larger than a quarter and predates the well-known indian head cent. Nothing you find in the ground(coins) is likely to be worth much unless it's silver in excellent condition or gold.

A friend of mine found a new 20 dollar bill in the drain on the road once. She was like, Hey look, a 20.

Is that where I left that!?! She can go ahead and send that back to me. Tell her I appreciate her finding it.

My dad and his buddy have found all kinds of things with their little "beep beep" gadgets!:) In 1955 a tornado destroyed our hometown, so they find all kinds of things...

But all of you guys talking about spoons...your making me kinda nervous:eek: :D

From riding in my backyard I've uncovered some older plates prob from the family who lived in the house before ous. A guy at a local coin shop has a metal detector and walked around some civil war grounds he found many old coins and old bullets pretty cool...
