450r eletrical problems ?

I was talking to a kid at work today, and he said that he has had to pull a few 450r's outa the dunes because they had eletrical problems ? I've never heard anything about this... Anyone have any idea ?

Yea, i personally haven't heard of a problem, just what the kid at work said. Im pretty if it was something electrical honda would make it right anyway. If it's there fault of course

i had a problem with the ground wire to the coil. the connector was still on but had some play. it would run for a minute then vibrate loose and die. it took me a while to figure out what it was . once i figured it out i just squeezed the connector together a little with pliers so it was tight. not a problem since.

I havent read or heard anything about any electrical problems.

go to a yfz 450 site...thats all they talk about is their problems...especially their electrical problems..

I had sold several of the 450rs and the only service work we did was installing sone hrc kits and teather switches.I haye to say it but maybe he was being pulled out of the dunes by a 450r and had the sun in his eyes and thought the bike was red.Just kidding the yamahas are very nice machines and it dont matter what you ride as long as you ride....Chris
