I've been thinking about trying flat track this year, maybe I should make that my new years resolution, hehehe... Anyways, do you have any reccomendations on a basic setup in order to be competitive? I'll be +2 wider in the front and rear soon, but other than that suspension is all stock right now.

My 450's undefeated at the local flat tracks (ok, ok, I've only run two on this quad, but I led all heat races and mains from start to finish) -- fun putting it to the YFZ guys, especially in front of a crowd :)

I flat track my 450, but I am not very good at it.......................YET.
I have the HMF full system and CS Agressive cam, and all seems very well with it.

4 Stroke C

Brandon Hill went on to win the 4 stroke C Class in his first race of the season. He also finished 2nd in the Production C & 4th in 16-24 Class, which isn't bad for your first weekend out.

The Production C Points leader, Brian Egloff finished 8th after winning the last two rounds.

i used to chase points at the local ama district races. i did pretty well...now im all about tt. in oval if you have a good setup and a fast machine any lessor rider will win....in tt you have to have setup AND rider abbility. just my 2 cents!

this is what my setup looked like back in the day:eek2:

this is why tt is harder...the "polish" turn at ashtabula is the most challanging turn in all tting:devil:

lower the back end and put flat track tires on and you will be competative.

4 years from Atwater to hardware at Greenbriar tt. funny how this sport makes you keep spending, i mean, striving for more!

Went to my first national in Paducah this year. Just like you, the hooks are dug deep. Planning on adding Orrville to next seasons calendar.

See you at Fremont!

the most fun ive had at a nat last summer was at paducah when i was the "crew chief" for the quadfather, kenny marcou....we made a ton of changes to his bikes and got them really working good.

i didnt think i would like making the decisions on kennys bikes (hes made every gnctt since '96) but after actually seeing the differences it made on the track from the stands...i think i might have a future in wrenching for someone when i get too old.(did i just say that:rolleyes: ;) )

its always fun to help out riders new to the tt scene with setup tips and storys.

p.s. congrads to my fellow 4stroke A rider and friend wes heatherly for making it into the huevos 7 tt section!!!!!!

Competitive in what? Getting lapped? This is what it takes to compete here.

well you can be competitive with ALOT less than that:p my above 450 was raced with stock a-arms and axel...hell the tool kit and owners manual was in the stock location when the pic was taken.

still gotta ride 'em:devil:
