painting a frame

Hi, I have a 250R frame that I am giving my boyfriend for Christmas. It is in great shape but has the normal wear that any frame would in regards to the paint job. I don't have the time or the money to have it powder coated. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I should do to shine it up a bit? (would rust oleum spraypaint work?) Thanks.

i would not reccomend spray paint, it will look worse if he is picky, i say leave it the way it is, if he whines he doesnt deserve such a thoughtful girlfriend, damn, no one EVER gets me bike parts for christmas, and thats all i want!!!!

Spray paint won't hold up long at all. I agree with represent618. I would just leave it as-is and have it pc'ed after the holidays.
