hard start button

does anyone have to push there start button extremely hard from time to time on their 400ex? it seems like just the last week, periodically i have had to damn near push it is hard as i can to get it to crank. its a 04, so i wouldnt think the starter should be bad. any ideas?

does it push in normal and smooth but you have to give it a lot of pressure to start or is it like the thing is jammed and you have to push on it really hard to get it to move at all?

It has nothing to do with the starter itself, just the button. I have an 87' honda thats like that. You probably got some mud in it. I would just blow it out with an air hose real good and use it. Maybe a little WD-40 around the edges. If it bothers you that much then you might just have to replace it.

yeah it goes in nice and smooth, its just a lot of pressure. i probally got something in there then. thanks guys

mine wont push or it sticks when its really cold...but you get er workin in and its fine...take it apart and clean it i guess
