Noises after rebuild(unjetted to yoshi)

just rebuilt the 416 and i didnt get a chance to jet it yet, and i took it for a lil ride today and it makes a slight noise coming from the cylinder, everyone is sayin to jet it and it should go away.. my blaster did the same thing and i just jetted it...

could you posibbly tell us what kind of noise its making and if it does it all the time or just at certain times.
usually a jetting problem wont make a noise unless its a backfire or popping.

i talked to my sponsor and he said i need to play with my air/fuel mixture screw... and jet... i'm getting way to much gas, plug is black...

if the plug is black then you do need to rejet. what jets do you have now and what all mods are done and what elevation are you at?
also when are you doing plug checks? are you putting a new plug in and riding it past half throttle then shutting it down and checking the plug or are you idling it and riding slow and then checking it? are you using the same heat range plug as before?

definetely needs a rejet..... my aunts 300ex did the same thing after her 330 cylinder bore...
