I am waitin to find out the same thing. I am getting a 330 kit from four stroke tech for christmas. That includes piston, rings, circlips, wrist pin, sleeve, and head gasket. And I am getting a stage 2 web cam, valve springs, and hardend rocker arms. I can wait to feel how much of a difference its gonna make, caus eits like my only christmas present. Oh, and i am doing it myself too. you only need to have a shop pop the sleeve and bore the new 1.

I saw in a mag a few months ago, a test of the FST 330. They said it would walk away from a stock 400ex, and was neck and neck with a stock Z400. Theirs had the stock valves and porting, but everything else done to it. And they used a rolling start, because the 330 had a plus 2 swinger and was much better off the line than the other 2.

if it would stay neck and neck with a z400, then how would it walk away from a 400ex, because there is not enough difference between the two 400's for one to walk away from the other.
Expect to run maybe a little faster or slower than a stock 400ex.

my bro's 350ex will beat a piped 400EX and run with a z400. that was with old gearing of 14/38. He now has 14/36 so i will see how well he can hold up against my 426EX.

well, on a 330 without port work or oversized valves.. youre not gonna be haulin ***. i had a 330 kit with 11:1 je piston, web .335 cam, rockers, kibblewhite HD vavles w/ ti retainers, stainless valves.. and it was quick. but without port work its not gonna be fast.

i remember a few years ago in dirthweels they tested the fst 330 vs astock 400. I cant remeber the article but the where ranting abou the picture in which the 400ex was losing but oh well. its dirt wheels.

well lets just say it wasnt my 330 ;)

but actually, some ppl think they can just get the 330 sleeve and piston, and they'll get all kinds of power and all that without major headwork and cam, aint happenin. on a 300ex u coud just go .020 on the stock sleeve with a wiseco 11:1, have a cam, valve springs, oversized intake valves, a bbigger carb, and a good full race port and polish, and right there you're lookin at keeping up with a stock 400ex in a drag, its proven. dissplacement will only help as much as that head can flow
