ok, got my HMF full system today. switched out the jets, put it on...took about 3 hours but its on. now when i look at the exhaust it doesnt flow that much it seems (the smoke doesnt blow out like it does on the stock, it just rolls out, if you put your hand on the endcap you can barely feel the pressure). is there something i should look for or is this normal?

See if you have a leak where your header and silencer connect. If you do use some high temp silicone and than put the silencer back on. Also make sure you have the header bolts tourqed to the right settings.

you can use high temp silicone to seal up leaks on the exhaust? i might have to try this out, i got a couple little ones...what brand do you use?

Well if ya think about it, the larger diameter pipe slows down the air flow, the smaller the diameter, the more the volocity. But my HMF shoots out like a cannon, I dunno if thats because the hotcam stg 2, high comp piston and such...-darren

a spark arrestor may slow the exhaust down a bit if you run one.

yea, im using the sparky/quiet core. would not adjusting the needles/screw have any affect on it? just checking because ive never had a pipe before

i would just get the jetting near perfect so you can rule that out.

im thinking like speedy though

ok ,just pulled it outside and fired it up, found (hopefully), the main cause of the problem. theres a leak from where the front pipe meets the engine, must be a gasket loose i think. also when i revved it, the exhaust seemed to start flowing out the pipe like it should, but when i let off the throttle it pops.

defiitely get that leak fixed, and the popping means u need to fix ur jetting

if its a major leak, it'll pop. Fix that leak, if it dont stop popping, bump up the pilot jet 1 size. good luck-darren

ok, finally fixed it. bought some new head gaskets and put those in, now it runs alot better now, the popping stopped completely also.
