friend of mine did it and it worked, after the first winter they started to leak though, but alot of that was from spinnin em on dry pavement to get em sparking good

I studded the stock tires on my YFZ about a month after I got the quad . As long as you use the right length stud , you shouldn't have any problems . I think I lost maybe 4 screws all last winter ... but that I'm guessing is the result of having to run a bit of pavement from my house to the lake .

I studded mine up last winter and they didn't last for ****. I had to cross a lot of pavment though, which was cool at night. I have seen it done, but never got the chance....put some gas on the pavment and burn out once you have them studded, see what happens:devil:

Here is a pic of my tires last year....They didn't hold up very well and went flat really fast. Screws were to long:o

anyone try using "Slime" in their tires before or even before and after studding them? it might help as far as flats go. i know it adds weight to the tire but i think on the snow and ice it wouldn't really matter.:ermm:

the only problem with slime is that at high speeds it sticks to the tire in one area because of forces and it throws the tire out of balance... its like riding a quad with horribly bent axle...

Stay away from slim....if you ride in the winter, its gonna freeze and like Tommy said, its gonna be like riding with an extremly bent axle. Just get the right sized studs, and you won't get ant flats;)
