Will Honda come out with a big engine in 2003 to match the Raptors?

Anyone hear about anything like a Honda 650ex??

ugh no. very unlikely and I think the 650 size is to big anyways for a quad chasis if you want it to be a mx'er and they end up detuning it anyways if it has so much power. I wanna 450 or service honda 400ex/250r hybrid with the 02 cr250 motor like the cr500af. And since it would be in a quad chasis you could get about 50hp or so on a motor that weighs under 60 pounds and is compact.

I agree with Nasty, I hope Honda don't put a 650 motor in a quad. I would like to see something like the crf450 motor.

For some reason I just dont see Honda putting the crf450 motor on an atv frame...yet...
Id like to think that maybe Honda is starting from the ground up on a bigger bore atv..and not reverting back to an in production engine..Because Im sure that if they do come up with a bigger bike..itll have reverse....And It might take a while because of Hondas commitment to reliability...they are gonna test the **** out of it...BEFORE they mass produce it.Wouldnt it be nice if they finally gave a four stroke six gears too...I think they are looking at all the aspects of a sport atv and what gripes and moans they can fix...I was talkin to my honda dealer a few days ago about this...he said if they do plan on designing a new sport quad itll be totally different than what anyone expects...he said he went to a dealer summit or sumthin and they were showing this new front suspension for a sport atv which the rider could adjust for mx, xc, or just trail riding by unbolting the top bolt of the front shock and being able to place it at a different position therefore either lowering or raising how high the front of the quad would sit...a-arm travel ect...they were adjustable shocks too from what he said, and it was a pretty cool setup....I think Honda is got something in the works, but I wouldnt expect it tomorrow....

Honestly I dont really know that i believe it myself but i did talk to somebody who has a good friend that works for Honda here in the states and he told me there will be a release of a 650EX in 2004. Believe it or not,,i dont know. this is what i heard. There has been a lot of hearsay about this and we know that hearsay most of the time is bullchit so who knows!!!

The 2004 model will be a CBR 600 engine stuffed into a trx 90 chassis. It will come with a full 3" of travel and be race ready. Retail price will only be $12,000 out the door :eek:
