Think you need a new one, check into Baldwin Motorsports

Baldwin Motorsports has a cable that is made just for that.

I've read where you could mod the stock cable to work but it has no adjustment like the Baldwin cable and I don't see how it would work well. The Works perch w/hotstart is pricey but well worth it. Clutch pull and feel is greatly improved over the stock piece and with the Baldwin cable the hotstart works great.:)

I have the ASV clutch perch with hot start and I am happy with it. I has a nice easy pull. I also had to use Baldwins cable.

So can you replace the clutch perch and lever and leave the stock hot start lever? Or do you have to buy a whole new setup like you guys are talking about? Is the hot start button separate or connected to the stock perch?

We're talking about this (http://www.worksconnection.com/store/product.html?prod_id=302) clutch perch w/integrated hotstart lever. You can get a new clutch perch and lever and still use the stock hotstart. For those that race and remove all the extra unused things, the stock lightswithch/killswitch/hotstart is also removed.

Yes, the stock hotstart is seperate from the stock perch. It's part of the lightswitch/killswitch control box.

Cool thanks. I just bought the rekluse clutch kit and am thinking of replacing the stock lever and perch or getting rid of it all together. I'll keep the light switch and killswitch there for now.

the cable is like 30 bucks for Baldwin motorsports. it works really nice.

you could just upgrade the carb and go ahead and get the FCR carb and you get a new hot start cable with the kit. it will work with the work connection lever. well this route will cost you about 500 bucks so i think i would stick with the 30 buck route. well good luck

i got a clutch perch off a crf bike and it works great and is alot cheaper than a works connection, tim farr used to run the crf setup, i dont know about now but its where i got the idea, i got the whole perch for $25 plus like 35 for the cable from baldwins

i use a magura hydraulic clutch, with an asv lever, they didn't have a hot start for the 450r yet but they had one for the crf so i got that and modded my stock cable a little, works good. gettin an fcr this winter so the fcr cable won't have to be modded. like the 450r did.
