well I got the warranty on my 2005 400ex. I guess after reading all of this I shouldnt have. I'm very mechnical...I guess I just fell for it.

My friend has an 04 and he has blown out two rear calipers and both covered with ex warranty so.

Does changing my own oil void my warranty?

nope. keep a record of all you do though. as long as you take all the necessary cautions when rejetting, changing oil, ect.. your fine.

if you bought there extended service plan dont worry about it. I have no airbox lid, k&n, jetted, and a yosh pipe change my own oil. And a-arms axle and suspension done. Just took my quad in cause it was smoking and the gave me no problems. New rings, hone job, valve guide seals and all that goes along with it for nothing.

A short while before that my motor was ticking. New cam chain and tensioner all covered also.

I just bought a frame of pappy and was worried about swapping the motor over and losing the warranty..They told me just to call the warranty people give them the vin and i should be fine since im not opening the motor up. The warranty you got is an awesome deal

any they are not going to test the oil to see what kind it is....use whatever you want as long is its designed for ATV's
