300EX carb on 250EX...

does ANYBODY know exactly how to put a 300ex stock carb on a 250ex? the 300ex boot will NOT bolt on to the stock 250ex head. any other ideas? i know it can be done, just dont know how. ThanX

it can be done all. I heard about it. I know you can put a 400ex carb on a 300ex just by sanding the boot from the air box to the carb and the boot from the carb to the motor so that the carb fits in the boot. You could probably do the same on your 250ex.

The 250ex "boot" isn't actually a boot per say. it's an aluminum flange. the "flange" bolts to both the carb and the engine with 6mm studs. it's not a soft rubber boot like the 300 / 400Ex carb boots. so i'll actually need to find a soft rubber boot to bolt in place of the aluminum flange that bolts to the 250 head, then stuff a 300ex carb in it. thats my dilemma, i have a soft 300ex boot, but it doesn't match the studs on the 250ex head. :confused:

well how about getting a machine shop bore out the aluminum boot. That way it will fit the motor like it seposed to and the card could be hald securly. you can try to do a search or look at the members sig's cause I know someone on here has done it I just don't know who it was
