I have a twist throttle and love it. I would never go back. You will not ever have a sore thumb again. But like you have read it is all preference. If you know someone with a twist it would probably be a good idea to try it out first. good luck.

I just put one on my quad because I had a problem with my thumb taking me out of races. My thumb would cramp up so bad it would become useless. It got so bad I almost wrecked a few times. I haven't really got any time on the twist but I figure it can't be any worse then riding with a locked up thumb.

twists are just nutty:eek2: i can't see saving a quad when your in a bad situation tryin to hold onto a twist. i ride enough that my thumb is never an isue. so i'll keep it;) ;)

Motion Pro Vortex is the only way to go! Dangerous? Bah, it's all preference I guess, because when I use a thumb I feel like I can't even hold on. I ride dirtbikes too so I guess I just adopted it from there.
