I may be racing against someone with a 250R pretty soon at the local track. It has stock suspension, but the engine is hopped up. How much more power is he going to have than me (stock 400ex engine)? Will mine beat it on the uphills? I plan on ordering a 440 bore kit and twist throttle kit and maybe a cam, how much more will the engine put out including the cam and w/o it? Also, what kind of cam should I get for motocross?

The 250r will probably kill your 400ex on acceleration...
Also, a cam can make a night and day difference and you have to chose the right one for your preference (low - mid or top end power) go look at web cams website, you will have a good idea of what to buy.
