when buying something for your atv does looks actually matter to people? i always see "looks" used in a lot of post as a requirement when buying something. i have a friend who just droped around $8000 to build his yfz, and a lot of the parts he did was top of the line, but then a lot were just for looks. when i would ask why he got this part or that, he wouldnt give me a technical reason, just it looked cool. if a part is functional, and looks cool, then thats a plus, i rather have something functional. i always see post like, what sticker kit, or ive got $150, what should i use it on? a sticker kit, shocks or tires? i guess im tired of people accessorizing their quad like its some kind of fashion piece. hell when i got my 450r, looks had no part in it, to me it is one ugly quad stock. sorry for the rant, its not my money they they are dumping in thir quads.

do you buy something for your quad based on looks and nothing else?

you dont feel its a waste of money? a well maintained quad will always look nice, but IMO some people go over board.

My philosophy has always been "function is beauty". I want parts/equipment that BENEFITS me in some shape way or form. I don't have the dough to shell out on something just to make it "look good". I may not have the prettiest quad, but what difference does it make how pretty it is if your the slowest one in the pack. ;)

if ive got extra cash i dont mind making something look better but performance is far more important. i wouldnt argue that shiny parts dont make something look better

on the other hand, ive got an old 74 chevy 4x4 that looks like a tototl beater, but under the skin its far from a POS. itll out climb, mud, pull, or push most other trucks that look down upon it. and besides that itll lay down a 100 foot strip of 12.5 inch wide rubber.
