they look ok, they have ball joint ends though but also have heim joints at the start of the arms. 690 bucks, hmm, look around a little more.

you're going with JRD's you said. they have ball joints. Stop with this heim joint thing. Post up a picture of a set of arms with heim joints. I've never seen or heard of any that use them. The closest to a heim joint is the laegar's protrax. Post up a pic of the one's that you're planning on buying.

hey man why do you always get so pissed? What's the advantage of running an upper heim and lower ball joint over an arm set ups with upper and lower ball joints?

you seemed agrivated that i wouldnt leave the heim joint thing alone, lol. im not pissed, i just wanted to show you the heim joints on the JRD arms. the advantage is they dont bend on hard landings where the screw of the ball joint goes in. And there isnt the black grease bootie on a heim joint, rather like a greased ball and socket if you can picture that. not mad at ya man;)

We used to sell the HSD strong arms.

I know how heim joints work. I wouldn't reccomend it at all. and about bending the ball joint... you'll have the same problem with the heim, it has to attach to the spindle/hub somehow. Either a new hub is needed with a screw on top, or it looks like in that kit you posted bolts are included to put in the stock location where the the ball joint would be.

they still can bend but its a much stronger set up to run the heims. hammertrax has now bent 4 ball joints, and the JRD guys havent bent one yet. I dont know, the way we ride we can get away with ball joints but if i had to choose an application for hardcore MX, i would go with heim joints. as for the travel thing, the heim joint makes the same type of movement as the black bootie, just on an axis (round ball) instead of binding up with a ball joint set up. Once the ball joint grease bootie is worn out or gets cut or smashed enough, its gonna need a new one, thus making heim joints last alot longer.

HSD is a reputable company up here in Canada . Mark Lescerbo (?) does great work . I've seen a few guys run the Strong Arm a-arms and they seemed to have held up well .

i asked HSD about their arms and those heim joints are WELDED to the a-arms for "safety" so i guess that means when they wear the arms are junk.

lol, I have to answer in more than one forum.

I can build them with traditional bushings/sleeves, the customer is always right.

thats good.

for people that want heim joints, but dont want them welded on..... can you build them so they are adjustable? and replacable.

I have only bent the lowers. Uppers dont take the same abuse

450 Racer R

If the lowers get the most abuse, why run heim's the just the uppers? You're still gonna be bending ball joints with that heim setup

who cares about the upper heim, its the way the lower arm is built around the bottom joint to make it real strong. I could care less what kind of joint it is as long as it doesn't bend everyother weekend.

And by the way, you ride hard too and it wont be long before your changing ball joints too.
