My stock locknut has had it, need to replace it. Was wondering if anyone had any recomendations. I don't want to spend 200 bucks on an anti-fade locknut, something more like the base RAD nut that is around 50 bucks. Thanks

Goto Chozen Performance (http://www.chozenperformance.com) tell them you need a Locknut for a 400ex. I don't think its on their site yet, but I believe they make one for it.
I think they run $55... one piece design and have a lock screw so it wont come loose, and it comes with a cool wrench to put it on.

Deathbringer, I went to the web site for Chosen Performance and did not see it there, but anyway, that lock nut sure looks nice!!! I can't tell from the picture too well, but do you know how wide it is? It looks to me to be narrower than our Rad locks.

Mitch, the Rad lock is sooooo much easier to use versus the stock axle nut..... Plus it looks cool, maybe not as cool as the ones Deathbringer shows.

Good luck!

They don't have the one for the 400ex listed, but if you goto the contact us page..call and see if they have it... I think it crosses to another bike..
Its a nice nut I have seen it in person, and I think its about the same size as the RAD..not sure but gotta be close.

This looks like a good one, and a good price too. They have a machine shop, make it themselves. Smoker, is that what you have? If so, how is it?

I've got a speed racing sure-lock axle nut and it works great,,but I do like the looks of that dual lock axle nut,,,I'd get that one if I didn't already have one.

I called Chozen Performance, and the guy I talked to said they don't have an axle lock nut for the 400EX. He said it's in the queue for production, but would be 2-3 months before it's available. He also said none of the other models will cross over to the 400EX.

I currently have the Alloy Specialties(see picture) nut on my R. After a few months the outer ring started to wear out and would jump over the clip and everything would come loose.

I contacted Bob from Meszaros Motorsports and he said his nut is better and made from stainless rather than just steel. (The nut is still aluminum.)

I got it for $35 and he said to send it back if I was not 100% satisfied. I should have it by the end of the week.

It is a nice quality nut, it's aluminum with a seperate stainless ring so it doesn't get chewed up, like TRX250r87 said. I put mine on last weekend, it comes with instructions and mounted up very easily. This is my nut, I only have one due to a bicycle accident as a kid.

Now y'all have me doing it! Nah, just kidding. I've heard some good stuff about His products. I'll give him a shout soon and get one on the way.
