What is a cherrybomb?

04-23-2002, 03:11 PM
A cherry bomb is a muffler used on a car or truck. Some of the welfare crowd such as myself run them on a 4cyl. to get that bumble bee buzz. But I think these two been smokin crack. I wont say its impossible to install one, but 2. For what purpose just run all cylinder into one header. Does it got a Holley 750 double pumper, and double hump heads, too? Come on, if you gonna say you got it, you gotta show this crowd the pics.

I wish I had pics of this joker that used to ride near me.

he had a late 80's yamaha tri-z with what he said was a ninja 750 engine in it.
well......it had a road bike engine in it alright, but it was a honda 550 engine, not a kawi 750. the thing was a total death trap.

the battery was attached to the rear grab bar in some sort of wooden box with several bungee cords holding it in place (kinda)

the rear fenders and tank plastic were gone. the "fuel cell" was a briggs & stratton 1 gallon tank mounted right on top of the piping hot heads......and the 4into2 exhaust had no mufflers.

the "rider" had no helmet, and since he had no brains, I didn't figure he needed one.

He challenged me to a race but I had to decline since I was on my 2year old's TRX-70 riding him double :o

if you ever see a retard like this on the trails.......head the other way. do not tempt him to do something stupid, because he most certainly will. chances are, he will not need to be provoked into an act of stupidity, it will come as a natural act.

Whoa, What year Xr500 motor??? I'm stuffing one of these into a modded ATC350X frame now...

04-23-2002, 09:08 PM
it is a 1980.what year is your 350?

04-23-2002, 09:10 PM
Well, it WAS an 85...hehehehe. My motor is a conglomeration of parts from a 79-80-82. I've gotta screw with my carb some and I hope to have it running on my engine stand I made for it. Then I can drop it in the bike and begin working on my exhaust sytem (Fun Fun Fun for everyone!)

those xr 500s are air cooled arent they? just wonderin I saw one for sale bout a year ago in awesome shape for a grand...but turned it down

04-24-2002, 07:29 AM
Yes, their air cooled, and HUGE mofo's too. A 350X motor isn' even compareable in physical size.

they are big the guy that did this one had to but like an 2 inch spacer for the gas tank just so the head isnt touching the tank and the plastics dont line gup it has some kind of wierd custom headers they were just thrown together the kick starter shaft is broke off to so you have to compression start it

i got another buddy were i live that has a 300ex with a kx 500 motor in it its a piecer there it doesnt hit powerband he has a pro circuit pipe on it thats cut in 3 places just so itl clear the frame

you might think for full of it but its the truth

my bud put a kawi 750 engine in a tecate rolling chassis. i've only heard myth's from the family and seen pics of it. i wish he still had that thing. it was to loud so the wife made them sell it.

i know someone like that 4punks , it is pretty scary to be somewhere when those kind of people are riding there to. the dude i know has a honda recon and is way crazy on it ( i mean to crazy ) he will do stepups and crap . one time he was flying out a tunnel to leave the trails and there is this chain gate and to the side a little roll that you ride over to get out, he jumped that in lik e 4th WO and smashed right into someones car ( the quad's tires landed in the windsheild.

Kinda scary but oh well . .
