My friend has a 400ex and we were re jetting and the brass colored piece that the needle goes into is all messed up what is this part called and can it be bought separate and intalled?

is it like a screw? it's the main jet. you can buy them at any motorcycle supply or dealer. they're like $5 a pop

Is is prolly the seet (seat?), they can also be bought for a few bucks at the local shop.

no not the main jet i do believe it is the needle seat. I look it up on a parts diagram.
