The day started off cold! Yeah, everyone thought the rain had ruined the track, but that didn't stop the 28 teams that came out for the ride of their lives!!

The starting order was drawn and the Pro class lucked up to being on the first row. Running was involved on the start. At the mid point of the starting line hill, Row One lined up with their partners standing next to their machines. Green flag goes up - and the Pro's started running.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:11 PM
Matt Smiley, with the longest legs, was running fastest!

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:14 PM
And they were getting on their machines!

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:15 PM
The A Class started on row two. Here they are running down hill to get to their quads.

Bonnie Cook

These boys get into the staging area and wait - Isaac Bentley and Robby East.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:31 PM
At the end of lap one, Matt Smiley held onto the lead.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:36 PM
Second Place was Santo DeRisi, less than 20 seconds behind.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:43 PM
Not far behind in third was Josh Allen. Allen switched off with partner Robby East.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:45 PM
In the A Class, the battle was tight between Daren Walker and Jason Wyatt

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:47 PM
After two laps of waiting, Chris Borich was ready to head out!

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:48 PM
Chris and Mike Houston sit side by side, waiting for the battling duo out front to make their way in.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:50 PM
Coming down the field section, Smiley and DeRisi are still right together. Both teammates are going to switch off for fresh riders.
Wheel to wheel action.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:52 PM
Still tight.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:52 PM
And Chris is out first.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:54 PM
Third place - one minute back, Wyatt Westmoreland

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:56 PM
Wyatt had to stop to get new gloves.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:58 PM
In the A Class, Jason Walker is racing.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 09:59 PM
Pro Team - Josh Allen and Robby East.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 10:01 PM
Still going - Mike Houston, holding onto second, just fifteen seconds back.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 10:03 PM
In the A Class -
Daren Walker still out front.
Jeff Pickens holds onto second (pictured here)
Third, Travis Styles, who switched out with Shon Franklin to ride a lap.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 10:04 PM
The battles stayed tight between Smiley and DeRisi.
The A Class kept switching around too!
The race was getting exciting!!

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 10:07 PM
Things break down for the DeRisi/Houston team when Mike Houston breaks a ball - joint. The team is forced to wait till Mike makes it back to the pits to get going!
Once Mike makes it in, Santo is a lap down. But this team never gives up!

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 10:09 PM
The A class battles never die down - here Styles and Pickens are all over one another.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 10:10 PM
Chris out on the motocross.

Bonnie Cook
12-13-2004, 10:12 PM

gump

i'm always around... what up ?

Flynbryan19
12-16-2004, 11:10 AM
For the mid-east next year, do you think I'd be fast enough to run fourstroke-B? I just want to be in a smaller class. There always seems to be 30+ entries in the fourstroke-C, but don't want to get in anyones way either.:ermm:

Be honest, you don't have to worry about hurting my feelings. lol.:p

Z-135
12-16-2004, 11:13 AM
Look at last year’s overalls!

Flynbryan19
12-16-2004, 11:22 AM
I know they only show 8 in B class, and 11 in C class for points, but theres also ALOT of guys that just don't have memeberships right? I know on several occasions I've seen threads on here where Bonnie has said the C class had close to 30 entries. I'm interested in racing, but would rather ride in a smaller class.

Gump has seen me ride, and I was just curious if he thought I was fast enough to hang with them or not.

Dannys400ex
12-16-2004, 11:32 AM
hey dude

im the guy who rode with you guys at brushy i was on the smokin 400ex, from my experience racing i think you should start in c class run a couple of races and go to vet class or stay in c class, i think b class would be little too fast for now, just my 2 cents

Flynbryan19
12-16-2004, 11:41 AM
Hey Danny, I remember ya. Did you get your ex back together? Is it a 440 now? Whats the age limit for vet? I've still got one more year yet before I'm 25, so I guess I'll be stuck in fourstroke-C banging elbows. :D

Dannys400ex
12-16-2004, 11:45 AM
its not back on its feet yet, i broke a bolt off in the cylinder, and it wont come out, i took it to a local machine shop and they couldnt do anything with it either, so im just waiting on a good deal on a jug, the age limit for vet is 25-35 so yeah it looks like long year of bangin elbows, but you should be able to stay with the front of the pack

Dannys400ex
12-16-2004, 11:47 AM
and yes when it gets back to running it will be a 440, cant wait

Flynbryan19
12-16-2004, 12:49 PM
Well hurry up and get that thing runnin' again. It was fun riding with you guys. We'll have to do it again soon.

gump
12-16-2004, 03:21 PM
brian i think your fast enough for b class, plus your endurance will help, but i think their gonna split c class up by age if so i would start out there for a race or 2 then you'll know if you need to move up

Ok, sounds good. Plus if they split up C I wouldn't mind it anyway. I like to go fast, but am not hardcore competative like I used to be. I think the intensity level will be alittle less in C anyway. I was just looking for a little less elbows to bounce off of in the first turn. :p Thanks to you and Danny for your advice.

Gump are you gonna go to that NCMP harescramble their having on Jan.2 ? I think I'm gonna try to be there.:macho

About the Poker Run:
If the weather is nice (no rain or snow), it will be held. If the weather is crappy, no Poker Run cause we don't want to ruin a track with a mud fest!!!

Hopefully the weather will stay decent cause I am looking forward to the Poker Run!
