I Have A 88 250x & When I Do A Wheelie & Just Get The Machine At About A 45 Degree Angle It Starts To Sputter & Dog Out, Is this Normal For A 250x? I Understand That Its Gravity Fed & All.... But It just Seems Like It Shouldn't Do it As Soon As I Start To Wheelie , I Could See It Starting After A Few Seconds But Not Instantly , Any Ideas?

The same thing happed to my friends 250x. It ended up being one of the tubes from the carb. It got cloged. So clean out all of the hoses form the carb. That should fix it.

It might have something to do with your float in the carb also.

I Have Had It Apart & I Dont See Any Way To Adjust The Float Level.... So I Dont Think That Is The Problem.. I Think It Is Not Adjustable... But Tell Me If I Am Wrong Cuz I Would Like To Know How To Adjust It If I Can. Thanks

The only way to adjust most floats is to bend the metal tab that pushes on the float needle. A shop manual will tell you what dimension the float should actually sit at. When I take carbs apart I always check that the float needle seats when the float is pushed up. As far as when you are doing a wheelie, the float could possibly be set wrong. Not enough fuel in the bowl, might cause it to start stalling or too much might flood it. Just a thought. Good luck figuring out what exactly it is.

Yes, It i MOST LIKELY to be your float. I had the same problem on my 300ex, but i just installed a new jet kit and got the float in my carb fixed. Try that, it should work after you adjust the float or jets

Thanks For the Replies , My Float Is All Plastic & Has No Metal On It... Maybe It Is Just Plain Old Worn Out & I Should Buy A New One.... Where Can I Buy A New One At? I Rebuilt The Carb When I First Got The Machine & No Float Comes With The Kit... I Spose I Could Order From The Dealer & Get @$$ Raped.... Thanks Again For The Help

probably just around the same amount. Maybe take a lil more off cuz I have the pipe and jet kit. BUt it depends on who buys it, cuz over there in NH...someone might wanna pay more for a 300ex.

Ya, obviously if it has a plastic float, you can't adjust the tab. Did you still make sure it shuts the gas off when it is raised?
I not sure what else to say about your situation.

Thanks Kurt... All The Hoses Are Clear , So Thats Not the Problem , I Will Just Keep Screwing With The Float & If Nothing Else Can Be Done Try A New Float.
