to be honest I'd say a 4 for me. I am better than pretty much all of my friends but I am far from pro.

I gave myself a 5 or a 6 i don't remember which. I'd say I'm a decent rider. Far from pro, but not too bad.

Excellent topic... I've always wondered how well everyone on here could ride.

I'm about middle of the road, I think...eh, who am I kidding, I probably suck! LOL :D

well it depends on the scale. is 10 like the top pro racers? since i dont even race that would put me at about a 5 or 6. or are you talking about compared to all riders in general, like utes riders, hunters, farmers, and mini riders. that would put me at about a 9.8 ;)

i gave myself a 5 because i know im not the best, but im not average either, the scale seems a little on the small side because the average rider probably isnt a 5, more like 2-3

steveatv3
12-13-2004, 08:17 PM
im not sure ill say a 6-7 in MX

And prolly a 7-8 for fmx.....i just lack the edge that the fmx guys have like the double trick combos and stuff

I put down a 5 for me. I feel like I'm a competent rider, one who may not be the fastest, but will be fairly steady in a race and can ride most any decent trail. If I push myself to a 7, I quickly fall back to a 3 due to arm pump, adrenline and costly mistakes. If you're an 8, I'll see you back at the truck at lunchtime... I can't keep up, but if you're a 7, just hold up a bit where the trail splits and I'll be there real soon. :) Then GAS it!

Id say im a 7....I think im a very skilled rider but there is always room for improvement

iwas torn between 7 and 8 so i put myself as a 7
i love riding and i push myself every time i go out(you get good that way or you die from a wreck)
i want to be better so i go to my limits all the time
only time i dont is when i ride with all my friends then ill take it easy so everyone can keep up

its hard for me to really rate myself, cause ive never really rode with anybody fast except my buddy. on a mx track i would get smoked cause ive never been on one. i wouldnt know how fast to hit the doubles. but i have gotten some pretty big air before on our small ramp. about 14 ft the best we could tell. i would do alot better in the woods against somebody. if me and my buddy ride as hard as we can in the trails around here we will get a flat, no question about it. i have over 20 plugs between my front 2 tires, and several in my back tires. but they are just 4 ply tires though. i have also cracked one of my a-arms, busted a wheel, and knocked a hole in my frame. all from trail rididng. i think i ride my stock predator to its limits in the woods. i use to think i was fast until this summer when i started riding everday, me and my buddy have gotten alot faster. but i dont know if you can consider tearing a 4 wheeler to hell, fast. i guess i just need some tire balls and some good skid plates. oh and ive been riding for 18 years. maybe next summer i can get to a race.

wow, some people really think they are great riders. i think it all depends on what you ride, where you ride and what you think of as good. if people are thinking that 10 in a pro racer and they put down a 7, then they think they could qualify for a or b class nationals. people i race with can be one of the fastest people at a local track, yet have problems qualifying at a national in the b class.
here is my opinion of how it should be broke down,
8-10 pro
8-9 pro-am
6-8 A class
3-5 B class
2-3 C class
1-3 normal every day riders.

i think that can qualify for XC, MX and other racing. if youve never seen pro's race, you dont realize how slow you actually are.

now for me, on TT i would say 7.5-8 if i was in shape and on a good quad now on mx, i would say a 2.5-3, which i hate mx, ujst with there were other type of racing here.

7-9 depends ehat type of riding I am doing. MX I would go a 8-9. Hair/scramble or Gncc I would have to go lower. I am a puss in the woods. I am afraid I will hurt the bike, to he)) with me!

scale as how i saw it when i made the thread...

9-10 - pro/VERY good rider
7-8 - excellent rider
6-7 - good rider
5 - average rider
3-4 - below average rider
1-2 - bad rider

thats how i see it, i think its about right.

Is that how you want people to think of us atv riders? Yes this is a thread about atv's and he probably doesn't have one but he is good at something and takes pride in it. I am pretty sure that there are alot of people that go onto blaster hq and the cannondale site even thought they don't have one.
