Which cam for dunes?

Which hotcam should i get for riding at the dunes, not jsut racing but mostly for duning on stock motor? 400ex

Hot cams Stage 1. Anything with more duration won't work well without higher compression.

I would go up on your compression, if not to a 416 bore and a hotcam stage 2.

ya if you want to really dune, up the compression with a new piston, plus a HIGH rev cam and a high rev port/polish and youll be rippin

How will a stg2 do in my stock motor if i get a piston later, i want to add a cam for the dunes in jan. and then a piston in april, or should i just go with the stg 1 if i am getting the piston later?

I would wait and do it all at once. If you are going to do the piston get a stg 2, if not get a stg 1.

I just ordered the stg2, becuase my buddy has it with stock piston and he loves it, i just got my head ported so i think it will help and i will add the piston in april when i powdercoat my frame!what do you guys think?

Get the higher compression piston, than get your frame powercoated.
