cam installation

I installed a 416 piston and cam this weekend. When you set your cam in is the lobes up or down? I have it back together and my timing chain seems to be making a lot of noise, i adjusted the tensioner and no help. any sugeestions?

lobes down. As for the noise, did you get the cam chain guide in right? Did you check out the tensioner to make sure it was working right? Just guessing here...
