Has anybody ever put too much oil in their 450? i changed my oil and its completely covering the window. I filled it to spec, but didnt show up on the window so i added some. I rode all day yesterday and it didnt seem to affect anything so i dont know what to do. should i take some out or what?

when I went to the races GNC at loretta lynns literally ALL the 450r's had the window all the way filled up. my stealership gave it to me this way too...i have mine always filled up now right in the middle of the window

too much is really bad, your engine will start burning it!

I over filled mine one time and my 450 was cutting out and stuff really bad... i checked the airfilter and everything... but what i had done, was overfilled the oil. After i drained it a little bit... it ran just fine.

mine did the same thing, i cleaned the filter and lowered the oil and it didnt happen again. it took me a while before i found the oil check bolt.

drain some out. to much oil will get whipped into a foam, which dosen't lubricate well, and it will not return to the liquid form. once in the foam state it will be sucked/pushed thru breather tubes and back into the airbox and thru the carb (clogage) and then into the intake valves (excess carbon build up) then burned.
overall not good.
