knocking engine

heres the symptoms...

when the motors on... itll sit an idle forever.. itll go when you give it gas.. itll do annnnything you want.. but its making a knocking sound that just doesnt seem pleasing to me.. the motors running prefectly fine.. its a 416.. .. what do you guys think it is?

could be ur cam chain is stretched and needs tightening...if ur cam chain tensioner is all the way in u might need a cam chain

If it is making a small knocking noise it could be your aftermakret cam if you have one?

could be your valves possibily or one time my dads truck was makin a knockin noise on the highway due to low octane in the fule. a little octane booster and higher grade gas and it was fixed.
