Best Band ...???

Alright , what do you guys think is the best band to come out of the '60s , '70s or '80s ?? I know a lot of the older guys grew up to the stuff from the '70s ... so what's your opinions ??

Even though they never really played in my era of growing up ... they did however release some of their best stuff on their 1994 comeback album . I'd have to say the Eagles have to be one of the best bands to ever play music . Their Hell Freezes Over album is awesome .

Van Halen, and pink floyd. Theres a bunch of good ones, but those ones are the first that come to mind.

From the early 90's I really like Nirvana, and Rage Against The machine. Both bands were so inovative, and qrote stuff unlike anyother band.

I asked the question , cuz I just watched the Eagles : Hell Freezes Over dvd .... if you haven't seen it , I suggest you do ( if you like their music) . Really great dvd of them Live on their first show when they got back together for the album in 1994 . Pretty talented musicians ...each one of them sings , plays guitar , play drums and a couple of them play piano/keyboard .

Teg... you mentioned some great bands . I'd also have to agree with AC/DC ... they put on a great show at the Toronto Rocks concert , which helped bring people back into Toronto after the huge SARS scare .

I would have to agree that the Eagles are a great band and one of the best from their time. Also, AC/DC is awesome. I think U2 also has made some major accomplishments over the years and i think their awesome. they are still making good music. Anyone hear thier new song Vertigo?

Lets see, Some here may not be the best, but they were good and had a big influence on later bands.

Hendrix blew them away in England, Janis Joplin- she was good, The Who, Cream, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, Jefferson Airplane,
The Doors, Allman Brothers band, Steppenwolf, Elvis Presley, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Guess Who, The Doobie Brothers, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, I could go on and on.

Howie ... those were the days eh??? I wish I'd have grown up in that era of music . Although there are a few great bands now days .... I just find that music from the 60s 70s and 80s are a lot better than the stuff now days .

You named some great singers and bands . Especially CCR , The Guess Who , Bread , Crosby Stills Nash and Young ... there's just so many . I was never a fan of U2 ... but millions of people love them .

Howie ... trust me .. I'd have much rather grown up in the 60's and 70's like my parents did . My old man almost made it to Woodstock .... but him and his buddy decided to go to Bristish Columbia instead , to go look for work . He told me it was a coin toss which decided where they went . Coin toss cost him 2 years in a logging camp .
