havin some trouble with the 400ex

i have a 02 400ex it ran fine yesterday then i washed it and it still ran fine well i start it up today and the trottles like sticky so i lubed it and everything nbut its sill bad when i hit the gas its like dealyed then it revs near the revlimiter and wont come down and im not even touching it

is it a twist or thumb throttle?

The trottle is still sticking, right? It may be the throttle cable, or there may be a piece of trash holding the plunger up inside the carb.

Anything else it did out of the ordinary would help alot at diagnossing the problem.

u hit the thrttle then let off then it will rev real high and not come down

on a serious note, check the THrottle cable all the way back, check out the actuall tumb pusher thing, other than that i dont know...

the thumb throotle pusher assembly thing was fine inside not a speck of dirt

SOunds like the cable is in a bind. Start it up and let it idle, move your bars back and forth to see if it idles any different.

Replace the cable if it's the stock cable. Clutch and throttle cables are something you should ask santy clause for every year.
