I really like Riding in the Woods and I am Fast in the Woods, but the 400EX is Sweet looking when it`s Setup for MX. I don`t really like to Jump, but I still like how they look. Should I try to MX because I like how the 400EX looks better, or stick with XC Racing?

i like how the mx bikes look also,,,,,,but i mainly have woods to ride in,,,,,,not as tight as the ones in the east, and midwest,,,,,,,so i could get away with a combo of the mx, and xc mods.....and it is fun to jump sometimes,,,,,,,no 80' doubles or nothin,,,,,,,,just small hops.......well anyway that is my 2 cents:D

Do both warriorman,,,that's what I did,,or,,kinda did I guess you could say..

Warrior Man, dude, 400ex's look trick with big tanks,Carbon Scoops, and XC set-ups, but so does MX set-up,but if your fast in the woods, stick with woods. Its fun tring to get a wide quad threw trees that fast, haha

I could do Both. I need to go to a MX Practice and see how I like it. I might just stick with XC Racing.

I'm with Pro400, I like the looks of a big tank, big tires and full fenders. MX quads look cool too. If you don't feel comfortable doing the big jumps then stay away from them, they will bite you!

So your telling me,you don't think this 400ex looks sexy?with the tank and full fenders?:o

Umm...they both have their pros and cons. Pro's: keep your back tires from hanging on trees, keep you from running over your feet.
Cons: can't put your feet down to push yourself back, can get hungup in ruts.
I can go either way, my last quad had them but this one don't.

cdalejef

23" XCT's Holeshots in the front and 20" XC's in the rear. I have a set of 23" Dunlops for the rear in deep mud.

I live in Jefferson county over in the PRP area right by rico. I race the Nationals, in Letichfeild, ky, Edmonton,Ky, I raced at podium when they had the quad series. And usually go up to E-town at the practice track called Eastview. Basiclly wherever I can find a race I will go to it.

You said you were a better woods rider right? So do you wanna sit around and look at your quad all day or do you want to get out and be competitive?

chris29

Do whatever you feel comfortable with and have the most fun at. Looks are not important having fun is. Thats is what it is all about.

We should all go Riding at Big Rock or Red Rock whatever it is this Summer. We could stop by the Shop. Ride some of those Elka Quads.

cdalejef

04-23-2002, 07:49 PM
Crhye you need to get directions from rico, cause I think we are going down there this Sunday. That is a awsome track. Its better than most race tracks Ive been too. Me and rico and my brother in law chip are the only ones who do all the doubles on the track on quads besides the dirtbikes.

Clay

Sweet, sounds like i need to come up there and check it out. Id love to ride with you guys. Rico, if you are out there give me some directions from Clay, KY to whatever town you are talking about. Im guessing it is Elizabethtown? How big are the doubles Chris29? Are the jumps very big? What length? Is it mostly doubles, what about tabletops? Whoops, etc.... Sorry for all the questions, just curious.

From the way you talk about racin in Hebo or whatever the name is you should be fine...no really big jumps,,,50 foot step-up,,50 foot step down,,couple smaller doubles,,it's not crazy big,,but does take some balls to hit some of the jumps,,I think you'll love it,,I know we do. Only $5 to ride fer the day and it's only open on sundays..I'm gonna get some pics sunday if the weather is good and post them out here of me and chris..
