Is there any good duning locations in michigan?

Is there any good duning locations in michigan? because i plan to go duning when i have my 250ex with all my friends next summer and need to kno if there are any dunes in michigan?

give me a couple weeks and ill have some on here. I usually go 10-12 times a summer. Take a camera everytime I go.

Hey kwatts,what side of the park where your catching air on those hills?It was awesome catching big air going over test hill. ThaT WAS THE FUNNEST TIME IN MY LIFE at silver lake.

Probably the most air I've ever gotten, I was landing almost halfway down the hill.

so that pic is on the last hill before theres the sand road that brings you back into the parking lot or down to the beach. At the north end of the park there was a hill that dropped almost straight down for 50 feet and went up quickly30 feet and went down again for a ways and I went over it in fifth gear and landed on the part that was just goin down after the big drop off so it wasnt to bad of a landing, but it scared the sh*t out of me.It felt like i was never gonna come down. My dad was pissed off cause i didnt look over the hill first. Its totally awesome going over that row of big hills when you first get out to your left and catching air off the top cause there so high up it feels like your gonna keep flyingjust like yur last picture. I want to go back. Kwatts you ever plan on going back?

I wish I could go every weekend. Its hard to get up there to get a pass for the weekend when your about 90 minutes away. Oh well. Ill be there April first. Dont even mention snow. I can handle the cold.

We live 90 minutes away also, sometimes if we want to go on a Sat. after the holiday weekend. we will go the night before to pick up a parking voucher. We usally go on sunday less crazy people and just get in line early like the first ones and have always gotten a voucher for parking. see ya in the sand.

So if I go early enough on Sunday mornings, I shouldnt have a problem getting a parking voucher? When you mean get in line, your talking about down the road where they hand out the vouchers right?

There is hardly a line at the voucher center at 7:30am in the morning, you can pretty much drive up to the booth get your voucher then get in line at the gate to the dune parking area. (on the road) The dune parking opens at 8am. The dunes open at 9am.
but remember vouchers are not untill memorial day weekend. before that its just open.:)

Yeah thanks...Ive been going up there for 2 years now but never went on the weekends when a voucher was needed. Now that I know its not that busy on Sundays I may be up there more on the weekends. We usually take a week in teh summer and camp at the state park. Ill have to let you know when.

On most weekends this will be true, but a couple of times this past year we got up there and there were none left. On a holiday weekend, If you dont get up there the night before you want to go in you wont get one (they start giving the p-lot vouchers out at 9pm for the next day).

I will be there for a day trip on opening weekend.

Im about 1 hour south of silver, last year I made it there a couple of times each month (also mainly sundays). Not sure how this year will work, have a child on the way(she is due may22)

It can happen common sense helps. Like if the weathers has been crappy and there is a beautifull weekend one might have a problem. also the weekends following a holiday are good hits.

Its a motorize vehical trail which means trucks. Its in the Huron Natl park by Mio, MI. I've never been there, heres a link

I live about 2 and a half hours from Sliver Lake give or take. Gotta love that place its a blast. Last time i was there I was doing wheelies up test hill only because of the factor that there was not much wind, so the tops of the dunes where not as tall. But i think this calls for a exriders road trip to sliver lake for a weeked or sumthing this spring time. If anyone is up for it we will have to come up with a few dates that most everyone can make it. I'm up for it. What do you guys say? I know ill be going up there Once I'm on spring break from school.. I dont know Dates for sure. I might be there for 3 days with 3 of my onther buddies. But lets see if a group of us can meet up there sumtime, and see what kind of trouble we can get are selfs into :D

Rock on... :D anyone eles? My 400 is still in the winter rebuild stage. Parts all over the place.. But as spring time gets a little closer we will have to come up with a few dates to hit sliver lake.. A good time will be had by all.. What all do you guys have done to your quads?

I am surprised that no-one has piped up to being closer to silver lake. I live about 15 min. from their. Don't know if I will make it for the opener, but will prob. be their on the first sat.. Just got my 400 and am looking forward to it. The last good sand quad I had was almost 10 years ago, but it was sweet (mint 1989 250r that loved to fly!!!). Hopefully this 400 can come close, dang I'm getting old...:D , but that does'nt mean I plan on growing up any time soon.
