what does it mean to grind the welds on your exhaust? what does it do for you? what advantages are there? any info appreciated.

I grinded my welds down inside my header. Basically its cheap way of getting an aftermarket header. Opening it up a little more so your motor can breath better. Just use a dremal, grid it down until the weld isn't a lump anymore, and is pretty smooth.

I think you'll feel the difference. Mine seemed to rev more freely after I did that mod.

some pipes are worse then others. mine was minimal and i didnt feel any gain

im guessing you mean take the header off and look into the back end of it. and then there will be a matching weld to the one on the outside. and if it isnt smooth then make it that way with a dremel? it seems like it would have to be a really bad weld to make a difference, but ill check mine out, thanks.

i couldn't feel a gain either, but i guess it can't hurt.
