Rear and front tire size

I am looking to buy some new rear and front tires for a 250r...these tires will be mostly used for desert type riding on trails and then sand pit riding. I am leaning to the Kenda Klaw 6 ply tires for the rear. What about the Knarly are they they best for loose stuff like sand? Whats the difference between the mx and xc tires just the rubber or what? Also what about front tires whats the best. Also what size do you guys recommend? thanks

The XC's are 20". The MX's are 18". If you do a lot of desert riding, go with 22" in the rear and 23" up front If you do about half and half trail and desert, go with 20" in the rear and 21/22" up front. These are a good compromise between the two. As far as brands, everyones going to have a different opinion; I personally like holshots for your type of riding.
