More power out of my 250

I was wondering how to get just a little more power out of my 02 250EX without making it real loud...I know a pipe is the first step up but I do ride it residential alot and I dont wanna make it annoying and have the cops around everyday...what would you guys say?

How good are the bore kits? Do you have to have mods to support the engine upgrade...how reliable will it still be?

Im thinkin I might just have to deal with it til I decide to get a 400...but Id like just a little more out of the 250

250s are kinda hard to mod. not many companys pay attention to them. the only way your gona get some real power gains is a pipe, fliter, and a bore kit. id suggest an hmf full system with a quiet core, k&n filter, and a powroll bore kit. make sure you rejet if you do any kind of an engine mod. heres the sites if ur interested.

Is that exhaust pretty quiet then? I dont want something obnoxious because we do zip through neighborhoods and I dont want to see flashing lights behind me

YES...hmf is loud but they do have a silencer for them but i dont know how much it helps

ive talked to guys on here and they say that the hmf with a quiet core is pretty nice sounding. ya its gona be a little louder because it doesnt restrict as much air. but with a quiet core its controable. it isnt unbarebly loud but it isnt quiet.
