ESPN Great Outdoor Games to Include Professional ATV Racing
Decision makers behind the ESPN Great Outdoor Games presented by Dodge announced today that they are close to finalizing the addition of a professional ATV race to their 2005 event in Madison, WI on June 12, 2005.
16 professional ATV racers will be selected to race. Several million television viewers will watch the twenty minute race on ESPN as well as ABC's Wide World of Sports. Some 30,000 spectators are expected. Georgia's Donny Banks has been working with official members of the event for the last few weeks. Banks says he will create a race track that will make the ATV racing industry proud. "We're going to build a track that really shows off our sport. The track will feature a few big jumps, whoops, a possible option lane and a fast TT section."
The sixteen selected riders will race for a $30,000 purse.
