Carb/engine making noise

When iam warming my 400 up and i have the choke on, i let it run for a few minutes then i take the choke off and hitting the gas a little to keep it going. When i do his the the carb or my enginge make this like a click and a poof sound and the whole car moves back a bit. Its been doing this for a while but nothing has ever happend. It only does this when its warming up.

i bet you have an air leak. i would take off both intake boots and inspect them. look really really close for cracks. on the 99's and 00's, the intake boot attached to the head has a tendency to crack but you need to look close. also make sure both intake boots are attached to the carb really tight.

your not running an aftermarket rev box are you?
