why is a 250X faster than a 300EX ? what was done to the 250X that it is faster than the 300EX can anyone tell me why ???:confused:

A 250x and a 300ex go the same speed, all you have to do is put a pipe or filter in either one and it will be faster.

actully my stock ( well when it was stock) it would tear my friend's stock 2001 300EX up but why are they faster is it the gears ???????:confused:

the reason why the 250x is fatser are the followin.
1 the 250x is lighter due to the kick starter
2 it has a hotter cam
3 it has a higher compression piston.

thanks.... i wish i could have a starter tho but oh well screw it:devil ........does anyone know how fast the stock 250X will run and does anyone know how fast the stock 300EX will run ???

If I'm not mistaken, a stock 300ex will hit around 58mph...Give or take 1mph.

so a stock 250X could be about 60mph+ ???

could it be that they detuned a 300ex more than they did on a 250x besides that it is lighter and has a better cam

By any chance could you use a 250X cam in a 300EX? Or is it not much of a difference so its not really worth it? Thanks, later

actully i had never thought of that....it would probaly get u as fast as the 250X the only that makes them faster is the Hotter cam in them but i had never looked in to puttin one in a 300EX

250x has a shorter stroke connecting rod and the piston size is the same (74 mm) so therefore revs faster, just thought id share info.

i think that the 300ex tops at like 55, cause i have a friend that has a moded 3 and it tops at 60, and it blows me away top end,
