stock compression?

doesn't really say anything on honda's site for the 400ex's stock compression, im guessing like 8.5 or 9:1? was reading on yamaha's site, my dad wants one of their huge util bikes, anyhow it was runnint 10.5:1 on the kodiak i think, gosh that seems high for one of those.

off the top of my head I think it's 9:1.. books downstairs, to lazy to go get it :D I'm sure if I'm wrong somebody will chime in...

if you were looking to get something the most reliable compresion to get is 10:1 but if you go any higher your risking somethings:devil :cool:

No actually you are all close its exactly 9.1:1:D and I'm running 10.8:1 and my bike is veyr reliable.

how well do these engines respond to things like raised compression with race gas...stroker cams and larger bores? does it exponentialy change the power band? everyone arround here rides raptors and banshees, so you are the only honda people i know hehe. another thing i have noticed is that its relativly cheap to do engine modifications for these bikes.

well any compresion over 10:1 is not to reliable any thing over you will be looking at a rebuild about once a year.....but other than that they dont do too bad they show much improvement with these bigbores and so forth...:cool:

Does anyone know the compression of a stock 300ex. just currious because i am getin ready to rebuild it.
