The 400ex is a huge step from my blaster. I have rode 450's and the only thing they have on me is a couple thousand more RPMS lol. This winter im going for a big bore and maybe stroker. Im gonna see if baldwin could build it. I absolutely love the suspension. In 3rd gear if you give it throttle with bars turned you are turned around ina second or two lol

There are some companies out there making custom oil tanks.. One if not 100% sure what its call.. i believe its CFM or something.. alot of people are getting them from there. I wish I knew more for you. I actually had this one made by a guy in New Jersey called ARTS Radiator and welding. This dude is prestien with his work. He builds all aluminum radiators, oil tanks, power steering resivoirs.. all his sh*t is for race cars mainly.. they use his crap in NASCAR and alot of local dirt modified boys. Im sure if you got ahold of him, he'll make you one up cheap.. prob about $100.. lol!!! No bullsh*t!! CHEAP AS HELL!!

whats up blue416ex... exhaust is custom fab'd by TM fab INC.. its a full HMF system but the pipes comin right from the head we definetly sharpened the turn up. Doesnt look like spagetti up there now..lol!! It wasnt to hard. If you know how to weld.. just pick up some like 1-1/4 pipe, cut off the flanges, and pretty much shape, weld, form!! As for the swinger, modified 1-3/4 more.. extended stocker.. holds up nice and strong.. just has a name on it to look professional..lol!!

ahh sh*t guys.. wanted to post this up.. i picked up another '01!!! Got it mad cheap but it had some problems. No brake pads, broke rear brake hub, both sets of A-arms where bent, it was dirty, sh*tty tires, bent bars... just alot of problems although I got it for a grand:eek2: !!!!!!!!!!!!!! No in three days, this is what she looks like and shes a ripper!!! Tell me what you think as of now!! I'm pissed cuz i never took before pics.. i never thought it would clean up this good...

This used to be EX80s bike from this site. I bought it all stock chassied with the exception of the axis shocks. He used to have LSR stem, a arms and waslsh swinger. I got it, and made some mods to it to make it my own but kept his original plan. Still wish he had that swinger for it though.

very, very, very, very nice quad ZSK. One of the nicest ex's i've seen. My Subframe is bent and needs replaced so that looks crappy. My bumper is bent and needs replaced so that looks crappy. My frame is the ugly stock color and needs painted, and my plastics are cracked scratched and every other bad thing that can happen to plastics. Basically I got atleast 5-6 hundred dollars of stuff to fix up and only $400 to do it with. First things first. I'm getting an LSR subframe that accepts 250r grab bars. Then I'm getting a new bumper. Then im getting new suspension, and then exhaust, and then skids, and the list goes on and on. Maybe I can sell mine and get a nicer one :P. Got a call on it today, but havent got to talk to the guy yet. I put it in the shopper for $3500 and he still called, so maybe i can get most of what i paid for it back.

I just layed the hood on the stock plastic and traced around it, then i got a dremel and cut 1/2inch inside the lines. Basically you just cut out the whole middle section of the front plastics and use the hood to hold the two halfs together

Here's my 2002 I bought a few months ago. All stock. I think getting rid of the useless parking brake will be my first mod, but I'm keeping it mostly stock because I just bought it as a cheap way to get back into riding again. Reliability is the word here because I want to be able to have it sit for a while and then quickly get running to go out. I was thinking og getting red plastics, because I've always said, "Honda's NEED to be RED!" but after getting used to it, I like the yellow now.

the only thing that is factory is frame,some of the engine,carb,gas tank,and that is about it and i do have a aftermarket bolt set...but i opt to leave a couple of the hex head bolts in there

umm im not 100% sure but i know that the only thing i dont like about the maiers is that one, u have to bolt/ unbolt the rears as u didnt have to with stock and 2 i had to shave the bottom of the tank cover because it cought on the seat while sliding seat on.

I had no problem installing mine.

mine went on perfect, didnt even have to bend or hit. i was releived because all i ever hear about the pro pegs is how crappy the fit is. got another set for my 450r and went on fine as well. only complaint is they vibrate even with the hole drilled through the peg. quick fix is to wrap the propeg mount with acouple layers of electrical tape and its done

That hood is a QUADTECH carbon fiber or QUADTECH replica off ebay. Theres a guy called EBARGINLLC on ebay that sells QUADTECH replica carbon fiber hoods for cheap.. like $50-60 bucks. Thats if you dont wanna spend the $170 for a true QUADTECH... Nice lookin machine though TAMPA.. Looks good in black!! This pic i posted was my 01' like a month ago.. Just to show the hood.. Its a true QUADTECH and is for sale.. If you want better pics of it or anyones intrested, PM me!!

Yes that is a 450r staock front bump.. bolts right up no problem. it honestly has to atleast shed a pound compared to the stock 400's.. S**t is light!!!

This is my 400, only had her for a little over a year now. The tires and rims are new this spring....along with the elkas up front and an elka conversion on the rear. I'm hoping to do a graphics and nerf bars next!

The handle bars are from rockymountainatv.com, just the plain ole 400ex bend renthals. About $70 normally. I got them for about $50 when the newest models came out. With the Burgard +1.5 stem it sits exactley where I need it. The LRD is great puts the HMF to shame, the HMF is a nice pipe but I don't see all of the hype.:confused: I bought it used from JB500ex when he parted out his 400. Is it normal for it to turn from black to a brown color?

Yea its pretty sweet. Its called Atco Motorcoross Park. Right next to it is a drag strip so inbetween sessions u can watch the alchol cars and stuff. Its more of a supercross based track so its just jumps and berms. They are open tuesdays and fridays for practice. Its split sessions so 20 minutes quads on the track 20 minutes dirtbikes on. Practice starts at 4:30pm and close around 11pm and from 10-11 its open session which is cool cause quads and dirtbike can go on and u can just chill by the start gate and just go out to hit a jump and come back and stuff very cool track. I don't know what you had chromed. Was it really chromed or polished? Sidecases, motor mounts, oil filter cap, all that stuff can be polished, and anything else on the quad that is aluminum. Shiny is always better.:bandit:

yea right after i took those pictures of my rm250 i put some nice new dunlaps on it, for the new riding season, the other tire was kinda shot anyways, so i took it to the streets for some fun :D , on the other hand the 400s tires are almost new, just a little bit dirty......

black might be good, but you could do something really different.
Don't really know, look at some pics for ideas.

and if you pc the swingarm, pc the frame also it will be alot stronger then paint.
