what type of air filter should i get and how should i set it up?? i mostly ride in the the desert and how much is it ??

I run the Sparks filter kit. Kit is $50 but you get a filter and aluminum ring that fits inside of boot to clamp filter to. Replacement filters are $25. Mine works great.
