Best pipe for a 400ex

Well it really depends if your looking for top end power or bottom end power. I bought the yoshimura RS-3 full exhaust and i have to tell you that it is a really nice exhaust system. I love the bottom end power it gives me, makes it so much fun to corner.

I'm stuck between the HMF BALLACE PRO S/O with a FMF powerbomb header...or a HMF BALLACE PRO COMPLETE ALUMINUM...anyone have these setups? Is the Powerbomb worth the extra money or should i go with the HMF header?

Okay so I have read through all 30-something pages (yes I know I must be lame if I have time to read all the pages), but I want to know if the HMF Sport Series Exhaust is really loud. I want an exhaust that sounds really good & tough sounding, but I don't want to have a headache after riding all day. I also want more power of course. I don't know what I have in my signature right now...so I have a 2005 400EX all stock. If/when I get a pipe, I want to get a full pipe with a new air filter. Does anyone have a sound clip of a HMF? I didn't really see any sound clips while reading through this forum. Thanks

i have a complete yosh pipe setup on my 400 and everyone keeps asking me what kind of pipe that is. Has a real deep rumble to it. when you are on the gas everyone knows where im at

I'm running a power bomb header and the stock muffler with a power tip....and of course I had to wrap the stock silencer with stainless :) Love it000

it's a billet cap, you take your stock end cap off (the one with the tiny hole:) and install the new tip (the one with the big hole) spark arrested.....off you go....I just couldn't find a pipe that wasn't horribly loud...this gave it a nice rumble, had to rejet of course.....love it, bought one for mine to try it out (you know....thought it was probably junk) got one for my wifes 400 the same day..

gave it a nice rumble.....had to go up two jet sizes after install (popping) so it must be flowing pretty good...so hard to feel those differences....I "think" I did though

I wouldn't call mine "quiet", but I think it's as quiet as it can be with the extra flow that's needed.
I'll have the 416 and stage 2 cam in by wednesday so I'll see if it works well enough with that......but right now it runs great and is resonablely quiet....you'll never get it quiet enough to not be heard driving it on the street though.....

White Brothers Carbon Fiber.... they are awesome. The pro-circuit and Curtis Sparks are awesome pipes also but White Bros. has the power and sound of a champion. message to all::: LT-R 450'S are horrible bikes. I bought one last Friday and regret every penny spent on it..Im done wit Suzuki they took 7,000 of my money thats enough. My 440EX with stage 2 Hot cams, White Bros exhaust system, roll design a-arms, FOX shocks, FULLBORE fenders, 14:1 compression piston, and many other things done to it beat my LT-R by at least 12 lengths....DEATH TO LT-R.

I disagree.. My freind had a bigger rear sprocket which made his off the line alot better... and at the time I raced a 300ex with my 400.. I was stupid and got off the line in 3rd gear!! So my 400 would always sit there and not have enough power and just die...

I've said it before and I'll say it again HMF is the only way to go. You get the best performance for the money and you get awesome bottom to mid range power. Just my opinion.

I would have gotten a White Bros if it was still avail in a complete system. I decided to get a HMF full system (sport) and couldn't be happier with the power it made afterwords. Price and fitment was spot on for a full system. I'm switching over to HMF on my 450R soon.

I got an FMF hi-flow header, and a titanium 4, and it hauls. Even my dirt bike buddy said that it pulled way harder, and any quad is slow to him.
