Best pipe for a 400ex

i love my sparks, and the review is right, i drove 400 with a yoshi (expensive) and it didnt have near the punch my bike did!

Got my DMC Alien on and it looks freakin rad. Two pipes all the way back and two exits. Not to mention I beleive it sounds bad A too. Gives a nice pop harley sound. And wo does it pull hard, big difference in power

you guys are bickering waaayyy too much over this. A good rider with a stock pipe will rape a average rider with a sparks, white brothers or even an hmf :rolleyes:

theres maybe a 1hp variance in all of these pipes listed anyways, and to be honest, they probably all feel the same. I would go with what you think looks best, is affordable and sounds good ;)

i dont really know how much power they give or how they sound but i recently found out about lte (looney tuned exhaust) their website says it will give a 400ex 6-6.5 hp, but i just think they're cool because it basically gives you dual exhaust on a 400ex which is something i've never seen before, personally I have a pro circuit t-4 with the stainless header which i like just fine, i can definately tell a difference over stock in sound and power but i was considering selling it to my buddy and getting curtis sparks, lrd, or hmf

Best fit & finish Ive seen. It really wakes the EX up. This is my wifes ride, and all she ever had on it was a HRC endcap, so I can't compare it to other systems. Very soon though, it will be raced against another 400ex with full LRD, and a z400 with a full yosh.

This pipe was WAY easy to install too. Shoot I think it took me longer to put in the suggested 48 pilot jet in the carb than it did putting the pulsecharger on.

Just to tell yall cobras suck all the do is make it louder and most the time i head of ppl loseing power.

bills thunder series pipes give a nice amount of power in the low and mid range department and sound kinda like glass packs too.

if u want it louder put a pipe in the core to block all the little holes in it. then the sound kant hit the packing so then their is nothing to quiet it down.

i did that to my 400ex. i cut my white bros pipe 5 inches off and the 2 inch pipe down the core and it is loud.
i have the white bros logo still on it to all i did is put new holes for the rivets.

I have a white bro's on my wolverine. It's loud as hell! I took the end cap off and put a set of supertrap 3 inch disks on the end and made an aluminum end cap. I can run it close to wide open or take a few out if i'm in sound sensitive areas.

I took the White Bros e2 off my bike and put it on my wifes stock 400. Put a sparks X6 full on mine. The E2 is twice as loud as the Sparks. I love the sound of the X6, and the power is great too.

i have a dmc alien slip-on on my bike and just got a full hmf for my wife err umm my other bike. If you got to GT THUNDER THEY WILL SHOW YOU THE DYNO CHART> HMF full WON i like both the pipes hmf is deep loud, dmc is a bit higher pitch and tingy sounding more like a crouch rocket but i like it as well. What ever one you go with it will put some power on it thats for sure.

I bought my 400 w/ a White Bros. E-series slip on, and don't have any complaints. I'm certainly in no financial state of ease that I can just go buy pipes and see what's better. It works for me and is definately better than stock (w/ core removed which is what I run in winter on the trails, because it is quieter than the White Bros.) just my opinion...

Forget everything else and go with a full HMF ceramic coated inside and out. Sounds sweet and has optional quite core and spark arrestor.

The diameter of header is much larger than factory. Thus, the flow is increased greatly. Also, the shapes are usually slightly different than factory to give better flow. If you have the $$ I woudl highly recommend a full system. Apples to apples the stock header and HMF header are a lot different.

my cuz just bought LTE's for his 450R and they are very nice pipes, i rode it and its very very fun, the power is noticiable. but for my 400 im running a procurcuit T-4 and i like it but its a little on the loud side. but im gonna do a summer rebuild on the 400 and i think im gonna get a big gun evo x.

YES and the size depends on what other mods you have. air box lid on or off? holes in lid? stock filter? what type of pipe? altitude? there are a lot of variables to be considered so we will need more info..;)

I live Georgia by Athens, I think the elevation is about 800ft. The bike is stock. I want to get a silencer that will give me a deep throaty sound, louder then stock though, but not to loud. The perfomance gain is not that important to me,( I have not been on anything in the dirt for almost 10 years, and that was dirt bikes not quads) most of my riding will be trail riding. I just want a good sounding silencer utilizing my stock header (the bolts to the spark arrester were rusted bad,even after soaking them with pb blaster for an hour still broke em). An air filter change is ok, I don't care for the design of the stock air filter(the screen inner filter) unless you guy's think it is sufficient. I am new to quads and i am returning to the dirt after 10 years, please be patient with me I will catch back up soon. Thank you very much.

The staff at Alba really helps with everything!! I'd recommend you talk to Nate in parts just to talk tech. talk 'fore you decide!!! Well you no what they say opinions are like.............. I got one and thats it! If you don't like Alba then I'd say LRD would be my next bet!!!!!

the coffie can just makes your quad louder i can almost garentee that it just ruins your rings and makes it sound more powerfull but doesnt do anything you might even be losing power.

The LRD is awsome. I've put it on a few quads and the power gains are good. The 450r that I put it on is just an amazing machine. It's been running for a season and a half and still screams. Just remember that the bike was built with some really close tollerance specs and totally balanced out......

just unbolt the spark arrestor and take that out. Gives you a noticeable power diffrence, nothing major but better than with it in. It also sounds a lot better out too, quite a bit louder. The cheapest way to make your quad louder.

yosh i have had mine for a year and some mounths and i absolutly love it its very easy to quite down for trails with the tec kit and it gives huge power even with the insetts in

i have had a big gun and it did alittle for power and was so flufing obnoixous in the nouise department on top of falling apart and breakin everymonth i took it off and bought the yosh oh yah and lets not forget the it leaked and fit porly compared to my yosh

Happy with my E2. It's not to terrible loud with the arrestor in and it has plenty of low end as well as helping up top.

Plus I got a steal on it.. so that don't hurt either.

the thing you are talking about is not worth the money. it clames to flow 3 times the amout of air over the stock pipe. well all your buying is a different end cap with a spark arestor. its the same thing as running no spark arestor in the stock pipe. just pull the spark arrestor out and put a screen on the stock end cap and you got the same thing. (end cap with screen is all)
