Thanks to everyone who responsed to my engine cutting out problem. Not 100%, but I think my carb needle was the problem. When I took my carb apart again the needle fell out of the slide. The clip was barely catching in the slots. New clip and it stayed running all day Sunday. I need to replace both my center cases do to a crack along the back mount area. My R is an '87. I see alot of '86 cases for sale. Are they identical to my '87 cases. What about '88 or '89 cases?

I know the front of the 85-86( I dont have an actual 87 bottem end) have a \_/ in front, while the 88-89's have a \_____/ in front, altho I have seen ppl bolt an 86 and an 88 case together

Probably a lame explaination I know haha:rolleyes: :p

Everything on the cases is the same, with exception of the cut-out where the front motor mount bolt passes through, and the 86-87 cases were a cast iron gray color. All internals from all years will fit any of the cases.

The 88-89 cases are the best and have a much thicker crank case area on the bottom! These case will seal the center gasket much better..

ALL CENTER CASES WILL INTERCHANGE. ITS THE CLUTCH COVER THAT SOMETIMES REQUIRES DIFFERENT INTERNAL PARTS IN ORDER TO INTERCHANGE.
