I know y'all have probably seen the yellow wristbands that say "livestrong" on them and are worn by cancer survivors like Lance Armstrong and others who support him and the race for the cure.

But there is also another great program going on that supports our soldiers overseas, like in Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, and Africa. You get to have your own soldier that you get to write to and send care packages to. Its really awesome, and i think is a great way to give back to them and say thanks for risking their lives everyday for us. ITS ABSOLUTELY FREE to do this. Go to

after reading ALL of the information on that page and you want to register click the "...please register here" banner above the "register now" button (register now button doesnt work)

im not sure yet.....gonna get my mom to help me out w/ it

ill make sure to send the guy/gurl a dirtwheels issue :D

gotta pick out wut all im sendin from this list:

What items do soldiers need in their care packages?

Foods: energy foods, breakfast and granola bars, beef summer sausage, crackers, non-melting candy, gum, cookies (do not send candy such as chocolate that will melt in the heat), beef jerky, tuna in pouches or pop top cans, pop top cans of fruit, pretzels, canned chips, raisins, trail mix, nuts, dried fruit, hot sauce in plastic containers, pre-packaged snack food, bean and cheese dips, powdered, sugared drink mixes are especially needed (Gatorade, Kool-Aid, etc.)
Toiletries: waterless soap, antibacterial hand soap, deodorant, boot powder, baby wipes, toothpaste & toothbrush, disposable razors, shaving cream, hand/body lotion (unscented), lip balm, sunscreen, no-water Excedrin, soft toilet paper, moisturizing/cleaning eye drops, saline nasal spray, cotton swabs, eye glass wipes, dental floss, throat drops, Vaseline, aloe vera burn gel, flexible cloth bandages, blister care, oral pain reliever, ingrown toenail reliever
Free time materials: Magazines (wrestling, boxing, fitness magazines, sports magazines, comic books, Mad — no Playboy etc.), books, paper, pens (black ink only), pencils, word puzzle books, joke books, puzzles, board games (chess, checkers, Monopoly, etc.) decks of cards, newly released movies, movies you tape from cable or TV programs (VHS or DVD). Send the Sunday comics!
Miscellaneous: Underwear, bandannas, swimmers' goggles, strong flashlight with batteries, 12-hour orange glow sticks, surgical masks, sunglasses, shoe insoles, water bottles with straps, socks, bug repellent, flea collars, zip-seal baggies, batteries, air fresheners, pocket Kleenex, and blank postcards.

*Just a note, socks, lip balm and sunscreen seem to be what is needed most right now.

These are care package suggestions, but a simple care package of only a few inexpensive items and a cheerful card is just fine. The most important form of support is the weekly card or letter! In every box, include a self-addressed envelope along with a few sheets of paper. This will make it easier for your soldier to write back should he/she have the opportunity to do so.

Dont put in some playboy, but they never said other nuddy mags, or a nice vhs with some good porn on it would be thoughtfull to. Tell them not to write to you but to write to their family.

There is a thing called "General order 1" that states no pornographic images or video of any kind. Believe me it is nice to receive a "good" magazine now and then but it is not worth the trouble you get into if you are caught with it. I work, eat, and live in a underground bunker with 72 other guys and it is not like that is good company to sit and watch a porn with.

well when it comes to the people who actually wear them for the cause i think its pretty ignorant of you to say they're gay. Its a great way to get the word out without having to say anything.
