gettin a new gun i all ready know what kind, i just need some opinions on the caliber.

this is what im interested in:

7mm mag
300
30/06

just let me know what one you like and why, goin to get one tommorow after school so let me know.

ps. kinda like the 7mm the most.

well, that all depends, what do you plan on doing with the gun?

the intended use of the firearm will have an effect on which one is best for you.

i agree with Pappy, although am partial to the 7mm family. dad shoots a 7mm mag and me and bro shoot a 7mm-08. got to elks in a row so they are plenty powerful enough for most hunting. great guns for deer and mag is better for bigger game animals.

The winchester short mags are pretty nice. My brother just got one in .300 WSM and it shoots pretty well. If you like the 7mms they make a 7mm short mag. I have shot a 7mm Rem Mag for several years and love it. Doesn't kick too much and has plenty of power out to 400 yards, which is my max distance.

I like the 7mm, I aint into hunting like i used to be, but that's my recommendation from the little knowledge i can pull out of my brain today.

I shoot a 7mm Rem mag but if I was going to buy a new rifle for that type of hunting i would get a 300 winchester short mag. 30 caliber offers a lot more bullet weights than 7 mm

ruger 7mm-08's are bad.......... id get the 300 or a 7mm-08

my bros got a wood stock so its heavier and doesnt kick as hard and mine is synthetic black with silver barell. not that they kick hard anyways but I do love my 7mm-08. shoots great, nice grouping
