Is the z400 / kfx400 as fast as the 450r with a 13 tooth sprocket?

try a big bore kit, cam, piston, valve springs, porting and polishing, filter, pipe, and jet it right and maybe we can talk :D

Just for a reference I have a 450R with the 13 tooth front sprocket and my buddy has a 440 EX when you shift into 4th gear he would walk me. The 13 tooth front sprocket really hurts your top. Just me 2 cents.

depends on the weight of the rider. I have a good friend I go riding with and we drag all the time. he is with me side by side untill fifth gear. I will pull away on top. of course I am about 100 pounds heavier than him.

im sorry to say this, but your an idiot. you must have no idea about quad racing.

my buddy had a kfx400 with only an exaust. he used to pull me right out of the hole with one quad length and stay there. after i got my 13t and hmf slip on, we raced a again, and i had about 1-2 lengths on him. i would say a pipe and a cam is all a z400 needs to walk a 450r.

ps. we both weigh the same, and i am the better rider.

My buddy who races MX with me has a Z400 with JE 13:1 piston, Cams, FCR carb, and exhaust....its a fast Z400, no doubt! When my TRX was stock with just Sparks exhaust, filter, and jetting........I'd pull him right off the gate, everytime but only by 1-2 quad lengths. Now with my motor work, I blow his doors off :D

Of course, as of yesterday he's got a Trinity 440 kit and its probably going to be a different story. I'm almost scared to line up against him :o
