Right now on my R, the shocks aren't bad. I'm running an Ohlins fully-adjustable rear and Works tripple rates in the front.
I know the ideal MX ride height is about 7.5" high (when sitting on it). The only way to get my Ohlins low is to lower the ride heigth to its maximun (and it still only gets to 8.5"). At this point the shock has very little travel and bottoms easy. Is there a way to change this or will I need a new rear? I havent got a chane to ride on the fronts yet (lowered) but I'd bet they're the same way, but not as bad becuase they aren't set to the lowest setting.
Will I just have to fork out cash for new shocks to get lower?

Sounds like the shock isn't valved for you or you need a service. How long has it been since they had new oil in them?

Its not a zero preload shock, you cant raise the collars and expect to lower the ride height and not change the spring rate. The only way you get lower is a ZPS shock.
